Owner-Web Designer, KO Web Design
Karen Overn first started working with web design over 25 years ago when the World Wide Web first went public, while she was in college at University California San Diego. After graduating with a double major in communications and political science, Karen re-located to Colorado and spent 15 years as operations director for nonprofit arts organizations. During this time she learned the nonprofit business from the ground up, and was able to incorporate her creative, organizational and web design skills as part of her job. In 2017, Karen began designing websites full-time and KO Web Design was launched. Karen has built over 40 websites since, the majority of them for nonprofit organizations.
Karen is passionate about web design and believes that a website is an essential part of any business. She builds websites that are as valuable and useful to an organization as a long-term, trusted employee. Karen can evaluate your current website (or help you start from scratch) and devise a strategy to establish your website as a crucial organizational tool. She believes a website, in addition to telling your story and portraying your brand, should work FOR you, helping to minimize busywork and create efficiency.
Specializing in content-driven websites, Karen offers custom WordPress web development and affordable Squarespace sites. Karen makes websites so you can update them yourself, and will train your staff to efficiently manage your website on your own. Karen offers new website builds, website rebuilds and updates, feature integration, digital marketing and branding (including logos), social media strategy, search engine optimization and website training.
Karen’s attention to detail, effective communication strategies, creativity, and long experience in the nonprofit sector make her the best choice for building (or rebuilding) your website.
